This Time of Year
Feeling swamped? Mary Lee (author of Reconsidering Read Aloud fame, not our Mary Lee of third floor and TAS longevity fame) posts her reflections on this time of year. Worth the 3 minutes it will take to read it.
Love. The. Web.
- Graphic novels are my new favorite kind of book. There are graphic novel series, fiction, nonfiction, all levels, etc.. Barb has done a brilliant job getting our library stocked with graphic novels of all reading levels and the kids are eating them up like candy! If you are thinking of adding some to your classroom libraries, check out this post: Graphic Novels for Our Youngest Readers
- Take a look at this post on how uber teacher Beth Newingham organizes her classroom library. Wow. That’s just about all I can say. Wow.
- And sticking with Scholastic, the Teacher Book Wizard tool is pretty cool- you can search for a book level (free) or a search for a book alike which allows you to enter a title of one book and find others like it at either higher or lower reading levels.
Enjoy the great weather on this long weekend!
